# Tips for getting started

## Markdown

You can structure and format your content using Markdown.

## LaTeX Equations

You can insert mathematical expressions in your post by using LaTeX. This can be done in *inline mode* using single `$`

signs. For instance, the expression

$\sum_{k=0}^n k = \frac{n \cdot (n+1)}{2}$
```

is displayed as \sum_{k=0}^n k = \frac{n \cdot (n+1)}{2}.

The other option is *display mode* using double `$$`

signs, which displays the content on a dedicated line. For instance, the expression

```
$$
\sum_{k=0}^n k = \frac{n \cdot (n+1)}{2}
$$
```

is shown as

## Graphviz diagrams

You can easily create Graphviz diagrams and graphs using a simple text language. See also GraphViz Pocket Reference and the example below for getting started.
